Photographic Courses at The Old Fire Station.

Warminster Photographer David McGirr is introducing a new element to his photographic studio at The Old Fire Station in the Close.

From May, photographic courses will be run from the studio, catering for all levels of photography from beginners through to professionals. The majority of the courses are aimed at the general public and offer people the chance to attend both evening and day courses. Training includes basic photography and getting to know your camera through to capturing imaginative portraits and weddings.

David, has run a successful Portrait and Wedding Photography business in Warminster since 2001, and relocated to The Old Fire Station in 2006. The 1st floor studio has a fantastic space conducive to learning and students will have the full use of both the studio and equipment.

Over the last 5 years David has travelled throughout the UK and Northern Ireland holding photographic training days for professional photographers and students.  These additional courses he sees as a natural progression to meet a growing customer demand.

Over the Easter Holidays David says: “We recently held two photography classes for year 6 pupils at Warminster Preparatory School as part of their Art Week.  The classes were full of fun and the images produced by these 10 year old children were simply amazing and that was after only a 1 hour lesson!”
During the past few years we have had lots of enquiries and requests to offer training, having now completed the renovation of The Old Fire Station we can accommodate these requests within a professional and very comfortable setting.  David says:” There are lots of people out there with digital cameras who are not getting the best out of them, simply because they are not quite sure about the functions, or how to set up a pose or perfect shot.  The benefit of attending a course will change the way they can capture images in the future.”

The new website for the Training Courses for both the amateur and professional photographers www.theoldfirestation.com is launched this week.  It contains information on all the photographic courses offered, plus various Business Courses.  This website is an addition to the Professional Photography Services already offered by David McGirr Photography.   The first General Photography course only has 3 places remaining and that’s before the official this week.
