The Studio

David McGirr photography moved from a small courtyard studio into The Old Fire Station in October 2007.

The result is a modern and innovative space, with a large entrance gallery, studio, viewing lounge and digital editing suite. All areas are connected by a gallery corridor, which also leads to the old control room now converted into the most charming of toilets and changing room!

Upstairs, we have the "Crewroom". As this station had a retained crew, this room was used for briefings and training and consequently, has no pole!

Photography Training and Courses

Photography is an art that everybody should enjoy. Every household has a camera of some description, but very few of us actually learn how to use it and therefore do not get the best out of it!

"Photographs record history, bringing enjoyment in the future".

The photographic courses run from "The Old Fire Station Studios", are not just for the professional, but for the keen amature, and cover a wide variety of topics. Our aim is to make learning fun and enjoyable by teaching what you need to know, and not wasting your time learning facts that you will never use.

Although there are plenty of professional bodies and colleges offering courses, we believe what we offer in terms of training, tutoring and ongoing support is by far the best.

It is quite simple. Smaller class sizes and training that is relevant!

If you are a professional, or looking to become professional, we would recomend you join one of the professional bodies. Having been a member of all 3 professional bodies, our personal recommendation is to Join the MPA.
